Now hiring! We have a machinist role waiting for you at a stable and busy industrial fabrication shop in Torrance. As a CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for operating CNC drills and drill presses as well as other hydraulic and fab equipment. This is a night-shift position with potential for overtime, and training will be provided during the morning shift to ensure you're set up for success.
2nd Shift: M-F 3:30 PM to 12 AM (Occasional OT)
Key Responsibilities:
- Your primary task will be operating CNC drills and drill presses with precision and efficiency.
- You'll perform regular checks on lubricating fluids and conduct preventative maintenance on the equipment you operate, ensuring it runs smoothly.
- In addition to CNC drills and presses, you'll also work with milling machines, horizontal boring mills, and horizontal lathes. Water Jet, Presses, Brake Presses, water jets.
- You'll be working with oversized metal parts and materials, demonstrating your prowess in machining.
- Learn to perform internal quality control checks during machining procedures to ensure the highest quality end products.
- Set up raw, semi-finished, or used materials onto the chuck/machine and perform jobs following our shop practices and procedures.
- Keep your workspace clean and remove shavings as needed to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Be ready to take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of machining experience, especially with CNC machinery.
- Experience with Fanuc controls and G-Code is preferred.
- Experience with CNC Drills or conventional Drills is preferred, but not mandatory.
- This role requires good physical shape to handle heavy machine chucks, wrenches, and other equipment safely.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers is required.
