The Director of Global Supply Chain will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end supply chain operations, with a significant emphasis on sourcing materials from foreign and domestic sources. This role will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain, from procurement through to distribution, to meet the company's strategic objectives and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, particularly in China and Vietnam, to ensure continuity and reliability.
Sourcing and Procurement:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with all major suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate challenges.
- Travel internationally and domestically to verify supplier capabilities.
Operations Management:
- Oversee end to end supply chain operations, including procurement, Inventory, logistics, and distribution.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Implement and manage advanced supply chain technologies and systems to optimize performance.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Manage international logistics and transportation, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products. Coordinate with logistics partners and customs brokers to streamline import/export processes.
Performance Monitoring and Improvement:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
- Continuously analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Lead initiatives to improve supply chain sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
Team Leadership:
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing supply chain team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement robust risk management strategies to address potential supply chain disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience in global sourcing (Specifically from China and Vietnam), with a deep understanding of the local market dynamics and regulatory environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and advanced knowledge of logistics and distribution systems.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
