South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP) is seeking Teacher Assistants for our Head Start program in Monroe County. SCCAP is a non-profit social service agency that works to provide opportunities for low-income individuals and families to achieve personal and economic independence.
As a Head Start Teacher Assistant, you will assist the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate plans for a group of children ages three to five and providing quality early childhood experiences. You will act as a resource, advisor, and advocate for parents in the areas of child development, health, education, and community resources. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the program by helping create an environment which fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child in your care. You will contribute to SCCAP and the broader community we serve by working with our youngest participants and help them prepare for success in school and life.
Qualifications: B.A./B.S./A.S in Early Childhood Education or CDA credential for preschool or equivalent credentials and training.
