Wage range for the front desk department at this hotel is between $22.50 and $28.10 per hour, depending on experience, position, and longevity. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE HOTEL NIGHT AUDITOR EXPERIENCE.
Job Summary
Our 82 room, Award Winning Santa Monica hotel needs a Night Auditor to serve as the face of our business at night. We're looking for friendly individuals who enjoy being around and working with people and who can multi-task well. Previous customer service experience is important as you'll already understand the importance of responding quickly to guests' needs, questions, and complaints. Telephone work and computer work are heavy. Experience working as a hotel night auditor is required
Responsibilities and Duties
Handling telephones and responding to guest inquiries, "selling" to prospective guests, and booking reservations are essential skills for these jobs. You'll be booking reservations for individuals, families, business travelers, and groups as required. Your cheerfulness will greet arriving guests both walk-in and booked prior to arrival. You may help guests with special services and direct them to their destinations upon their inquiry or request for assistance, so familiarity with the area and the area attractions and roads are important. You'll be "front line" in communicating guest special requests and complaints to the appropriate department, as well as resolving these types of issues when possible or applicable to the position. Key Night Auditor duties also include balancing and closing the books of the hotel for the previous day overnight.
Qualifications and Skills
High School diploma or GED is required. Bilingual is a plus. One to two years hotel auditor experience is required. You must have excellent oral and written communications skills and be computer capable including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Previous experience with the Visual Matrix operating system is a big plus. Excellent telephone personality is a must. The Hotel never closes, so you must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays (night auditors work 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.!!) Once we offer a position, the offer will be contingent on your willingness to submit to a background check and pass that background check. Successful candidates must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality not only regarding hotel operations and procedures, but also (and very importantly) regarding guests.
Benefits
Full time employees may be eligible to participate in our company's rich benefits plans including medical, dental, vision, life, long term care, and supplemental insurance to help with medical deductibles.'
