The primary responsibilities for the Special Production Control position include but not limited to:
- Performs duties in P.C. in their area of responsibility (ex. Packaging, ECI, Forecasting). Performs duties to meet expectations of internal and external customers.
Essential Job duties but not limited to:
- Responsible for Red Packet development from beginning to final stage involving routing, development of Bill of Material, development of Scrap Matrix broken down to process level.
- Responsible for the development of the build out schedule by identifying parts involved, manual to check program; send information to suppliers of parts building out; determine parts that will be reduced in volume, manually calculate quantity remaining for long lead-time suppliers; count inventory and reset the perpetual.
- Prepares build out numbers and issue to suppliers, creates inventory sheets and conducts inventory counts, manages shortages and obsolescence.
- Responsible for Supplier Packaging (component parts); determine proper container quantity, size, type, and date needed; investigate current containers for use at build-out; review packaging with production and receiving; order containers and distribute information to PC and supplier.
- Responsible for Customer Packaging (finished goods); determine container size based on part size and forecasted production requirements; determine requirements for dunnage needed; complete packaging proposal to customer via VPACS; oversee prototype container build and test then submit to customer for approval; distribute packaging information to appropriate departments.
- Support in-house packaging and maintenance of all containers.
- Working with all packaging suppliers to reduce costs and lead times.
- Other duties as assigned
Criteria
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
Ability to analyze complex data from many sources
Possess good verbal and written communication skills
Good knowledge of the Toyota Production System
Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes, and materials
Excellent computer skills
Education AND/OR Experience
Associate and bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, business or engineering preferred
Material Control certification a plus
3-5 years of experience on the manufacturing floor is preferred
