Job Summary
The Millwright at Royal Paper will repair, maintain, and facilitate installation of industrial machines and parts used in manufacturing and production operations. Millwrights rely on precision in their work, following multistep instructions to perform their job correctly.
Position Details
· Ensures proper operation of large industrial equipment such as paper machines, pressure rolls, assembly line machinery, and machinist tools.
· Fit, align, and attach mechanical components.
· Troubleshoots problems with equipment and adjusts as necessary including when unexpected issues arise.
· Ensure machines perform to specifications; modifies and fine tunes machines.
· Disassembles or dismantles machines.
· Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on schematics. & blueprints.
· Maintain inventory of parts worked on during installation.
· Perform routine machine maintenance.
· Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
Skills/Qualifications Requirements
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment.
- Ability to follow rules and procedures regarding quality and safety.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean Driving Record.
- Must always be able to follow OSHA safety standards and be safety conscious.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral.
- Skilled in operating forklifts, pumps, hoses, air compressors, impact guns, and vehicles.
- Able to work flexible schedules including on-call and overtime as needed.
- Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook).
