Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Salary: $65-75K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are seeking a Field Service Technician who is self-motivated, comfortable with direct customer interaction, capable of producing technical reports, and able to assist the Engineering team in making product improvement recommendations for the Product Development Group. The Field Service Technician will have the responsibility of independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
- Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
- Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestic and international travel)
- Capability to write trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
- Knowledge of PLCs highly preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
- Proficiency in Windows environment with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Clean driving record
- No fear of heights
- Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) experience highly preferred.
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)
Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:
- Frequent interface with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors.
- Support in scheduling and coordinating the participation of vested parties at the site to inspect and witness the final installation of equipment and their participation in the execution of start-up and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate internally for timely response to customer inquiries.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment onsite and remotely.
- Repair equipment installed onsite at customer facilities, both warranty and non-warranty claims.
- Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations.
- Take ownership of correct implementation of pre-commissioning activities in the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines, ensuring quality of work and reports.
- Travel to customer site for final commissioning and demonstration of equipment functions to obtain customer acceptance.
- Support project team in clearing and signing-off all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items as per project requirements.
- Participate in project and construction meetings as required.
- Ability to provide technical training to end-user operators and/or maintenance personnel.
- Troubleshoot and analyze faults onsite in the event of technical issues, and provide on-site support to customers for subsequent technical queries.
- Independently coordinate with customers and/or end-users all details of site visits prior to departure.
- Independently coordinate all travel arrangements (airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.).
- Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
