ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Office of Affinity Programs works diligently to promote USF's commitment to community and fundraising programs within the Foundation. The office's primary focus is to cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships between USF and community members, promote community and affinity initiatives, execute programmatic efforts designed to enhance the donor and student experience, and demonstrate impact.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position plays a critical role in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual and major gift donors, focusing on affinity giving. This position involves strategic development, donor cultivation, fundraising execution, planning, and analysis to foster a culture of giving among alumni, parents, and friends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Development. Implements a comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement strategy for affinity giving. Aligns development goals with broader institutional objectives in coordination with university leadership. Works closely with advancement teams to ensure targeted audiences receive a compelling and strategic ask to drive increased giving and participation. Manage and mentor a team of development professionals and affinity program directors. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Manage annual fundraising goals and monthly activity metrics of development officers. Oversee student experience of affinity programs from orientation to graduation.
Development: Develops and maintains a portfolio of key donors, ensuring regular communication and personalized engagement strategies with specific goals and benchmarks intended to secure annual, major and planned gifts for affinity programs. Coordinates with development colleagues in colleges and units and the office of annual giving to develop coordinated donor engagement strategies. Coordinates and travels to meet with alumni and donors in the Tampa Bay region and nationally. Coordinates the development activities of any volunteer advisory boards.
Events. Develops, implements, and maintains all aspects of multiple events administered by the Office of Affinity Programs. Work strategically with development to ensure there is a philanthropic and fundraising component to engage prospects and steward current donors. Coordinate ongoing opportunities for donors and prospects to engage and mentor current students. Prepare event briefings for Foundation and University Leadership attending managed events. Manage expenditures related to these events.
Scholarship and Stewardship. Create and implement strategic plan to provide meaningful stewardship opportunities for donors. Coordinate scholarship awarding process for affinity programs managed by office and serve as liaison between scholarship recipients and donors. Develop stewardship touches and engagement opportunities that demonstrate appreciation and adherence to donor intent. Provide high level service to donors to community and cultural affinity programs.
Build and Maintains Relationships. Manage and coordinate the affinity programs and all standing and associated ad hoc committees. Serve as the Foundation liaison for the volunteers. Represent the program(s) on appropriate and affiliated internal committees and alumni interest groups. Build strong working relationships with staff, managers, deans, development officers, volunteers, prospects, donors and University leaders involved in implementing and on-going management of campus community and affinity programs. All efforts are consensus-driven and have the potential to have a significant influence on the external community's views on the University and the Foundation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of 10 years of related exempt level experience, including seven years of managerial experience, preferably in large complex institutions or organizations. Requires experience in leading multiple teams, projects, programs, and/or functions.
