Domestic Operations and Customer Service Agent

Platinum Cargo Logistics (PCL), an established and growing leader in the freight forward and transportation industry, has an opening in our independent office in Pembroke Pines Florida. We are looking for an experienced domestic operations and customer service agent to join this office.
In this position, you will work with the PCL local team, PCL corporate team, and customers to provide air and ground shipping services, project management, trade show services, reverse logistics, and home and business solutions throughout North America.
- 2-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years of freight forwarding domestic operations experience.
- Customer relationships in the industry.
- Oversee domestic air and ground freight forwarding operations for customers.
- Quoting, routing, tracking, tracing, oversee and interface with pickup, long haul and delivery carriers including airlines.
- Ensure government regulations are followed.
- Maintain SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) with key customers profiles (contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/carriers).
- Collect all 3rd party transport vendor costs into shipping software.
- Coordinate all cartage, warehouse needs with monitoring of all shipments.
- Troubleshoot customers’ shipments with the customer directly.
- Computer skills, Word & Excel and shipping software experience. Trans-Soft is helpful but will train.
- Problem solving, customer service, teamwork, planning and organizing, adaptability, and dependability skill sets are critical to the success of this position.
- Excellent phone skills as you communicate with our customers via phone, email.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening skills are a must.
- Attention to the small details when entering data into the system.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks: answer phones, data entry, entering costs into the shipping system.
- Flexibility with a positive attitude and ability to handle multiple customer inquiries in a fast-paced business environment.
