Position Summary:
Directs the business and clinical aspects of the Imaging Services Department, consisting of Radiology, CAT Scan, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging services, Cardiology and Transporters.
Conducts analysis of workflow processes within each of the imaging modality departments, to assure adequate staffing and supplies, while attaining established quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibits and applies a thorough knowledge of the field of Imaging Services
- Provides mentorship to team in regard to the business practice of the department
- Provides guidance and direction to the PACS/RIS Manager, while also supporting the department as the RIS/PACS
- Maintains a regulatory readiness for the department
- Demonstrates ability to master new techniques and use of equipment
- Works directly with physicists to conduct radiological equipment examinations for the purpose of service line accreditation.
- Establishes and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintains departments Policy and Procedure Manual
- Adapts to and implements new hospital and departmental policies or procedures in a timely manner
- Prepares and be responsible for the department’s annual budget
- Serves on hospital committees and participate in their on-going evaluation process as needed
- Administers preparation of a variety of reports, documents, statistical surveys and other data for various departments and committees in a timely manner.
- Seeks to increase staff job knowledge by sharing newly acquired information about the field of Radiology
- Performs timely Quality Assurance studies and presents results to QA committee in a timely fashion
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program or related field
- Management experience is highly desired
