Field Adjuster
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations of insurance claims, including gathering relevant information and evidence
- Evaluate policy coverage and make coverage recommendations
- Assess damages and losses to property
- Communicate with claimants, policyholders, and other involved parties to gather necessary information
- Periodically come to agreed scope with insured's chosen contractor
- Analyze police reports, fire reports, engineer reports and other relevant documents to determine the validity of claims
- Collaborate with assigned desk adjuster to ensure proper handling of complex claims
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislature affecting claims
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of property estimating (Xactimate or Symbility - Xactimate X! preferred) and the ability to accurately assess damages
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with claimants and policyholders
- Familiarity with ISO forms and Surplus Lines policies, exclusions and endorsements
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple claims simultaneously
- Analytical mindset to evaluate evidence and make informed decisions
- Ability to detect potential fraud in insurance claims while maintaining good faith claims practices
- Knowledge of local labor and materials pricing changes to accurately estimate damages
