Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; a strong academic background is required.
Semester: Fall 2024 Semester
Adjunct Faculty: Early Childhood Education
The instructor will be responsible for helping to prepare and to teach two half semester courses, both 8 weeks long. The instructor must be familiar with and experienced teaching in an online or blended learning environment using a variety of platforms, including Canvas and Zoom. Solid knowledge base of research in ECE related to child development, curriculum, early literacy, and DAP (developmentally appropriate practice).

- ECE 109: Creativity in Early Childhood Education
- August 26 to October 19
- In-person format
- Thursday from 4:00-5:30 pm
- ECE 203: Language Arts in Early Childhood Education
- October 21 to December 14
- This course is a hyflex course which means it is taught in-person and via Zoom simultaneously.
- Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm
Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require classroom or online instruction.
The compensation rate is $750-$900 per contact hour [or $46.75 - $57.90 per clinical rate per hour if applicable]. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
The minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:
Education: Master’s degree in early childhood education (preferred) or master’s degree in a closely related field.
Experience: Between 3-6 years' professional experience in the field of early childhood with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, curriculum planning and/or program evaluation.
Licensure: The NH DHHS Early Childhood Professional Development Specialist Credential for Faculty
Adjunct Responsibilities:
- Create course syllabus.
- Engage all students to assist and meet course learning outcomes.
- Develop and deliver lectures and learning materials.
- Grade all work submitted by students and provide timely and substantive feedback!
- Provide "experiential learning" opportunities whenever possible.
- Deliver content that aligns with research and best practices in the field.
- Implement equity-based and culturally responsive teaching strategies.
