We are currently seeking a responsible, experienced Tax Senior to join our growing firm in Conroe, TX. As an experienced member of the JW Schubert office, you will work as part of a team responsible for tax preparation & review, tax planning, and consulting for a variety of clients, mostly small business owners. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with clients, staff, and management while collaborating tax strategies to benefit the our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of income tax and accounting concepts
- Perform bookkeeping functions and prepare compiled financial statements
- Take ownership over processes for assigned workstreams, including creating and preserving relevant work products, timely reviewing and providing constructive feedback of deliverables to your team, and otherwise proactively responding to changes in workflow
- Develop quality compliance deliverables and tax planning approaches by providing timely and responsive services and work product that meets or exceeds client expectations
- Communicate with clients and team members to gather data relevant to the engagement and tailor project deliverables accordingly
Minimum Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience preparing/reviewing various income tax returns including individual, partnership, S-corporation, C-corporation, and trust income tax returns
- Experience preparing/reviewing various state tax returns including Texas Franchise Tax Reports
- Experience working with small business clients and pass-thru entity filings
- Strong analytical, research, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Bachelor’s degree required (accounting major is preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of personal motivation as well as the ability to work with a team
- Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed CPA or CPA exam eligible
- Prior experience with the Thomson Reuters products suite, Quickbooks Desktop, and Quickbooks Online

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
