Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is our client’s first contact when calling or visiting the hospital and as such, creates and reinforces the professional image of the hospital to all callers and visitors. This position requires strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to multi-task, and the capacity to use tact and diplomacy in all situations. CSR’s must provide a high level of client care at all times. CSRs are expected to follow our protocols and procedures with great accuracy and enthusiasm, even during the busiest of times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help create and maintain a professional, yet warm and inviting atmosphere for clients and their pets.
- Ability to greet clients in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner. Be able to engage with clients in a professional manner to determine their needs and assist them throughout their visit.
- Be able to schedule visits and procedures, check clients in and out, and admit and discharge patients in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
- Professionally administer all telephone calls – answering client inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner, scheduling appointments, recording messages and processing requests for assistance from other departments.
- Collect client fees, post and record payments, make change, process credit card transactions and run check transactions.
- Learn about the over the counter and diet products we off and be able to assist clients with their purchase decisions. Be able to direct clients to our online store as needed.
- Learn about the teams and capabilities of our sister hospitals and be able to refer clients to them if needed.
- Input data into computer software system.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties, mailings, cleaning, organizing reception area, type memos, correspondence, reports and other documents.
- Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.
- Assist with routine cleaning chores as needed.
