You will be part of the Estimating Department that will provide the Sales Division with support by performing proposal preparation and in-depth analysis of engineering and design.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for reviewing, assigning, and assisting in technical quotations of IEM’s Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear. You will be responsible for working with various supplier partners to complete an IEM bid package including, but not limited to buyout items such as MV transformers, LV Transformers, Disconnect Switches, Enclosed Circuit Breakers, Busway, Digital Metering, & Relays. You will be responsible for updating vendor contracts in IEM’s Estimating Tool. You will be responsible for auditing the IEM pricing model and making recommendations to the Director of Estimating on pricing model improvements. You will be required to interface with project management, engineering, and procurement departments. You will be required to update and maintain an Estimating Department Bid Calendar. You will be responsible for hiring, organizing, & conducting annual reviews with the Estimating Department. Responsibilities include reviewing requests for quotes (RFQs), which includes reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and pertinent bid forms. Providing bid recommendations for Sales Engineers & Sales Directors. Conducting Pre-Bid Strategy Meetings with Sales Engineers as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in reading single line diagrams and specifications.
- Experience preparing Conform, Deviate, and Exception (CDE) documents.
- Strong knowledge of LV & MV switchgear.
- Experience with complex proposals/quotations in manufacturing environment.
- Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must have experience with COMPAS, Empower, Bid Manager, or Schneider Electric Advantage. Experience with multiple software platforms in preferred.
- Travel will be required during onboarding and the training period. This period will last 3-6 months and require up to 25% travel during that time.
