Overview: We are looking for highly motivated, passionate, and talented Deputy Directors of Voter Protection and Access who will support the Florida voter protection and access program, which aims to ensure that all eligible voters have an opportunity to vote and have that vote counted.
The 2024 program will include a focus on election administration and opportunities to enhance voting access prior to Election Day, as well as a robust voter education and protection operation during voting periods.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Florida Voter Protection in developing and leading state programServe as primary point of contact and provide support for state voter protection directors in an assigned region.- Triage election administration and voter access issues that arise in assigned states and serve as process manager through issue resolution
- Convene and coordinate with legal teams for assigned states, including local counsel and HQ legal team members, to develop strategies to address issues that arise in states.
- Collaborate on state program components (training, data, LBJ, hotline, etc.) and provide tailored guidance to state teams on these topicsDevelop metrics and goals, in collaboration with Florida Voter Protection and Access - Directors, for the state voter protection program
Ideal Skills & Qualifications:
Experience managing staff preferred- 1+ cycle of experience working in voter protection or related work or 2+ cycles of experience working in statewide organizing, issue advocacy, or political roles with a thorough understanding of voting laws and procedures
- Ability to understand complex election laws and regulations and advocate for pro-voter reforms
- Experience working with NGP/VAN. Experience working with LBJ preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills - Experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work strategically and collaboratively
- Experience juggling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment that requires exceptional organization, creativity, versatility, and problem solving
- A strong commitment and passion for advancing the Democratic agenda and enhancing voter access
Salary: The salary for this position is $78,000-84,000, on an annualized basis. This is a full-time position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024. This is an exempt position.
