Job Description
This position reports to the Wellness Director, who oversees Villa's Wellness Department. The Wellness Director Assistant oversees our Assisted Living and Memory Care community medication aides and care attendants. The Manager must have supervisory experience that includes training, educating and nurturing staff. This individual must have a demonstrated passion to work with the elderly. We would love to learn about your background and interests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Supervises the Care Attendants and Medication aides.
- Shares On-Call rotation responsibilities.
- Works under supervision of Wellness Director, assuming responsibility for care of all assisted living and memory care residents. Maintains a clean, neat professional appearance following nursing assistants' dress code.
- Shares on call rotation responsibility.
- Trains our medication aides and care attendants on their job tasks. This includes working side-by-side with staff to support and nurture our team members.
- Understands that working the floor is a normal part of an Assistant Wellness Director job description, when needed.
- Hires our team members in consultation with Wellness Director.
- Shows a loving, caring attitude with residents, families and other staff members at all times.
- Communicates clearly and appropriately in a soft tone showing patience and respect.
- Ensures that residents bathing, grooming and personal needs are met..
- Ensures that residents with bowel and bladder needs and with incontinence protection products needs are met..
- Ensures that residents get assistance with dressing or undressing.
- Ensures that residents get assistance in ambulating or transferring from bed, chair, wheelchair or commode.
- Makes sure residents go to and from dining room during meal times.
- Ensures that residents participate in planned activities in which they wish to participate.
- Makes sure that Care Team provides privacy for residents by always knocking prior to entering room.
- Maintains a safe, clean, organized and quiet environment through the facility.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-services and/or receives required training as state regulations outline.
- Understands fire and disaster plans and reacts appropriately if an emergency arises.
- Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, co-workers and self.
PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Walking, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching
- Ability to communicate with residents, families and personnel.
- Ability to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm and positive attitude.
- Ability to read and write in English.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicant must:
- Have 2 years of experience working in an assisted living and memory care community.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have experience working with the elderly
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
