Job Summary:
The Mechanical Design Engineer develops, designs, builds, tests, and inspects mechanical devices and systems such as machinery, robotics, tools, and sensors. Their primary duties include creating new products and designs, revising existing products, and providing installation support by writing technical documentation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
· Create and review technical drawing, plans, and specifications using SolidWorks
· Perform engineering calculations to support design work
· Designs mechanical drive systems employing a variety of motor technologies
· Possesses familiarity with industry practices related to drive system design and fabrication methods
· Assists business development with concept development
· Collaborates with other engineers, project managers and shop personnel during manufacturing process
· Creates and maintains drawing packages to ASME standards
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Significant experience in machine design
· Proficiency in SolidWorks
· AutoCAD experience
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent mathematical ability.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to create reports and documentation.
· Ability to manage multiple projects with the flexibility of adapting to changing priorities
· Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills
· Demonstrated self-starter and independent worker
· Must be effective and comfortable in team-oriented environment
Education and Experience:
· Associate/bachelor’s degree mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology
· At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
