Material Handler/Forklift Operator
6a-4:30p or 4:30p-3a Monday-Thursday
$16.50-$19.00 per hour based on experience and shift.
This Material Handler/Forklift Operator position requires a skilled individual with experience in distribution centers, material handling, and forklift operation. The role involves efficiently loading and unloading materials, utilizing heavy equipment, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. Premium skills such as reach truck operation and warehouse management are valued, along with knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate should be adept at order picking, shipping, and receiving, and capable of handling heavy lifting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Supports production by:
· Evaluating each finished skid for appropriate count for the product that was produced
· Ensure that the proper labels have been used for the product that was produced
· Places quality control sticker on all skids that are verified by the material handler
· Places all placards and required information on the skid
· Verifies and maintains product identification and count
2. Communicates with the lead concerns about product quality and stacking
3. Works with the warehouse and shipping department to identify where the finished product should be located
4. Maintain the re-work process in coordination with the line lead
5. Maintain and keep pallets in their proper location
6. Communicate with line lead and management staff when supplies are needed (example: pallet caps, wrap, pallets)
7. Operates material movement equipment as needed in a safe and efficient manner to prevent injury to self, others and other equipment
8. Supports departmental goals and objectives for quality, production and equipment maintenance
9. Maintains clean work areas; generates move or scrap transactions as needed to ensure inventory accuracy
10. Comply with all established safety procedures and policies
11. Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities:
· Must have the ability to take an active role in recommending and implementing continuous improvements in the material handling role
· Must have the ability to successfully complete on-the-job training (OJT) requirements
· Must posses the ability to use judgment related to identifying potential safety hazards
· Must have the ability to earn motorized material handling equipment license

· The plant environment will include, extreme cold and heat (weather related), working near moving mechanical parts.
· Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
· Frequently required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.
Qualifications
- Experience in distribution centers and warehouses, with a focus on materials handling and forklift operation.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, including reach trucks, and knowledge of warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle heavy lifting tasks effectively.
