We’re Looking for an ‘A’ Player
We are looking for a driven, curious, and talented Data Engineer to join our growing team and help deliver new data products for our customers. This role will be responsible for scaling our data acquisition and processing pipelines which run our website and fuel our valuation products. They will have significant responsibility over this critical aspect of our business and have technical freedoms to incorporate new methodologies (e.g. AI) to improve processes. They will work with our business development, data, and engineering teams to cement Tractor Zoom as the industry leader in heavy equipment valuations.
Hybrid - 4 days in office and 1 day remote
Responsibilities:
- Develop pipelines to ingest structured, semi, and unstructured data.
- Develop technology that interfaces with business processes to allow our company to scale.
- Identify bottlenecks and data quality issues and create solutions.
- Incorporate AI models built by teammates into our data ingestion processes.
- Build and maintain data acquisition pipelines using APIs and web scraping tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of programming experience (Python, desired).
- 2+ years of SQL experience.
- Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS preferred).
- Experience with web scraping technologies (e.g. Zyte, scrapy).
- Hands-on experience automating data pipelines.
- Orchestrators (e.g. Airflow, Prefect).
- ETL Tooling (e.g. dbt, Glue).
- Data Quality Tools (e.g. Great Expectations, Monte Carlo).
- Unit + integration testing.
- Familiar with version control (git) and CI/CD (Github Actions preferred).

- Data warehousing and/or modeling experience.
- Self-starter, be able to work with limited direction and guidance.
- Strong ability to identify, triage, and communicate issues and engineer solutions.
- A bias towards action, ability to rapidly prototype, and routinely seek feedback.
