Speedie & Associates has an immediate opening for a Senior Environmental Engineer/Department Manager in our Phoenix, Arizona office. The successful candidate will have key leadership experience in the environmental consulting arena as well as senior project management. This candidate will also be responsible for market development.
As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will be responsible for overall project management of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, which may include various types of properties such as undeveloped land, agricultural, residential, multi-family, retail, and commercial/industrial, as well as asbestos and lead surveys. The Environmental Department Manager is a key role that will be responsible for coordinating field activities, site visits, sample/data collection, subcontractor tasks, evaluating data, and compiling written reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies. This position will also be responsible for oversight of the environmental department, including pursing and maintaining clients, project tracking, invoicing, and staff mentoring and allocation.
This position is an integral member of the project team, interfacing with internal and external clients, preparing project deliverables, and clearly communicating with other project team members. The position is responsible for the managerial direction and leadership of the department, including supporting and executing business strategy, and developing high performance teams. Candidate will be expected to report to the office daily.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· B.S. Degree in appropriate field, such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related scientific field or 10+ years of experience performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
· Registration as either a Professional Engineer or Registered Geologist a plus
· 5+ years of experience in team leading / staff management
· 3 or more years’ experience in project management, consulting, or similar with an A/E/C firm.
· Highly organized and able to multi-task
· Self-driven and dynamic in a team environment
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
· Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients
· Ability to function in a fast paced environment
· Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
· Local networking with strong client relationships
· Ability to cross-sell between internal service lines
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
· Manages and conducts Phase I Environmental Site Assessment projects in accordance with generally accepted industry practices in the same geographical area
· Performs Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) including data collection, oversight of drilling operations, quality assurance, field sample collection/transport, decontamination of equipment, and documentation of field work/activities
· Creates and updates proposals for various projects across multiple geographies
· Prepares cost estimates, proposals, and invoices
· Effectively solves problems as they arise during the project lifecycle
· Meets project budgets and schedules
· Ensures that project deliverables meet quality standards and that project outcomes meet the client’s expectations
· Organizes client-provided documents and files for tracking and operations purposes
· Communicates with clients and owner representatives
· Schedules project site visits and other necessary field work
· Conducts environmental business development, cross-selling, networking, and marketing
· Operates a computer proficiently
· Handles special client requests regarding specific report format and billing requirements
· Follows safety procedures
· Report preparation including initial data entry to final editing for document production
· Reviews and edits reports prepared by Environmental Professionals, Environmental Specialists, and Environmental Technicians
