POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Business Development Manager position is responsible to identify, explore, and engage with target Companies and new business opportunities to enable business growth. The role is responsible to find and map key contacts at Companies within the markets and product areas targeted for growth along with other opportunities that may emerge adjacent to them.
This position reports to the Vice President or Director and is a key role as an individual contributor to drive revenue for Intricon in our Medical segments. The technology platforms of responsibility will include but not be limited to high density microelectronics, biosensor assemblies, miniature molding, and electromagnetic sensors.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, engage with, and drive business growth with Markets and key Companies consistent with the growth strategy of the business
- Establish network of contacts within target accounts to ensure Intricon’s technologies are known and in consideration for new business opportunities within those accounts
- Identify/profile key contacts (e.g. decision-makers, influencers, road-mappers)
- Collaborate with Intricon Account Management and R&D functions to facilitate our ability to optimize profitable growth with new business opportunities and meet or exceed the Company’s expectations for time to market, quality, and cost whenever possible; specific focus will be on distressed supply chain, 2nd source, and product transfer opportunity identification and winning business in these areas
- Evaluate and provide analysis to management for existing products, tools and support equipment as needed owned by Intricon or a Customer
- Evaluate and provide analysis to management for new product platforms and markets
- Leverage Intricon Sales and Marketing support materials and messaging to deliver compelling unique sales propositions (USPs) to key contacts. Provide Company and Market feedback on materials/messaging to enable continuous improvement
- Partner with Intricon colleagues to assess the financial viability of project opportunities
- Attend trade shows and project a positive image of Intricon
- Ensure Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is used to reflect the significant interactions with new business opportunities to assure ongoing scalability of the team and continuity with our Accounts
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel and participate in trade shows and other events to promote Intricon; able to travel up to 25-50%

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- BS or similar degree, preferably in Engineering
Experience:
- Business Development / Sales professional with 5+ years in the CDMO side of medical device industry
- Experience in Marketing, Business Development, or Sales to Tier 1 OEM Companies as well as other medical device Suppliers for over 3 years
- Prefer some experience in understanding of how medical devices area developed, manufactured, & used clinically.
Skills:
- Ability to access an established base of key contacts at Top medical device companies / medical device suppliers
- Proven track record of quickly gaining insights into Company ecosystems to identify network of contacts, decision makers, and key call points for Product Platforms
- Technical knowledge in microelectronics or medical products enabled by sensors or electronics (engineering background preferred, e.g. Sales Engineer)
- Proven ability to effectively engage Sourcing, Operational, and R&D contacts at medical device Companies
- Strong bias for developing long-term relationships
- Demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal, presentations)
- Ability to understand Company needs via appropriate, probing inquiries
- Integrity: delivers on commitments, will not over-promise but has “can do” attitude
- Track record of working with mid to large strategic companies; some experience with early stage/startup companies a plus
- Understand the need for collaboration, working across with cross-functional groups
- Comfortable at all organizational levels of a Company (e.g., engineers to executives)
