Make a real difference by helping people maintain their independence and stay safe in their own homes. As a non-skilled caregiver, you'll provide essential support with daily living activities, from meal prep to companionship to transportation.
Job Description:
- Promote health and well-being: Assist with personal hygiene, prepare nutritious meals, and encourage safe ambulation.
- Foster independence: Support clients in achieving their highest level of independence as outlined in the care plan.
- Provide emotional support: Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and families, building trust and confidentiality.
- Maintain a safe environment: Perform light housekeeping to ensure a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Ensure continuity of care: Observe and report client changes, prepare visit reports, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Home Health Aide Responsibilities
Client Care
- Follow care plan to provide safe and competent care.
- Assist with personal hygiene and maintain a healthy environment.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals.
- Help with ambulation as directed.
- Encourage independence according to the care plan.
- Promote mental alertness through activities of interest.
- Offer emotional and psychological support to client and family.
- Build trust and confidentiality with client and family.
- Report changes in client's condition or home environment to supervisor.
- Perform housekeeping tasks for a safe and comfortable environment.
- Prepare and document client visit reports weekly.
- Coordinate visit schedules with other staff members.
- Collaborate with other community agencies involved in client's care.
Professional Development
- Attend required in-service training.
- Confer with supervisor about client status and care planning.
- Report changes in client condition to the supervisor promptly.
- Work within home aide scope of practice under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Document and report to the supervisor.
Job Conditions
- Must be able to drive and assist clients in and out of a vehicle.
- Must access clients' homes, which may not be wheelchair accessible.
- Requires sufficient hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity.
- May require bending, stooping, reaching, and moving client weight up to 200 pounds.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
- Clear communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.
Equipment Operation
- Use of blood pressure cuff, thermometer, stethoscope, and hand washing materials.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age (Required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (Required)
- DCW training by AHCCCS (Required)
- Good Health (with documentation) (Required)
- Current Negative TB Test (Required)
- Current CPR & First Aid Certifications (AZ) (Required)
- 1yr+ of Personal Care, Housekeeping & Meal Prep Skills with documentation (Required)
- Respect for Client Confidentiality (Required)
- Experience in dementia care, post-surgical recovery, and or chronic illness management (Preferred)
- Bilingual proficient (Spanish) (Preferred)
