Responsibilities of the Communications and Marketing Specialist:
- Communications Maestro: Lead the weekly newsletters and communicate activities effectively.
- Marketing Maven: Promote membership, programs and events with innovative marketing strategies.
- Social Media Guru: Oversee social media platforms ensuring vibrant and consistent engagement.
- Content Creator: Utilize your strong writing skills and proficiency with tools like Constant Contact, Canva and Adobe InDesign.
- Media Relations Pro: Maintain media relationships and keep the website up-to-date.
What You'll Do:
- Boost Visibility: Communicate and market programs and events to enhance public access and increase brand awareness.
- Creative Development: Plan, write, design and manage advertising across various media including print, radio, TV and online platforms.
- Website Management: Design, develop and maintain the website with updated information and photos.
- Brand Stewardship: Oversee brand management to ensure consistent and effective representation.
- Press Liaison: Handle media relations, create press releases and arrange public representation opportunities.
- Newsletter Production: Produce the weekly newsletter from layout and design to article writing and distribution.
- Photography: Serve as the organization's primary photographer for events and daily activities.
- Promotional Materials: Design and distribute brochures, flyers and other materials for targeted markets.
- Video Content: Coordinate the creation and editing of video presentations for various audiences.
Community Engagement:
- Foster goodwill and understanding between the organization and public.
- Visit new businesses to share information.
- Represent the organization on local committees and state organizations.
- Collaborate with the President to develop and implement marketing goals and objectives.
Qualifications for the Communications and Marketing Specialist position:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, graphic design, business, hospitality, non-profit management or related field.
- At least one year of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and capacity to master design software like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Canva and WordPress.
- Strong writing, interviewing, time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent people skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid Nebraska driver's license and reliable vehicle for job-related travel.
