Founded in 1899 as one of Chicago’s original settlement houses, Association House has a 122-year history of meeting the most pressing needs of those in the communities we serve. Today, we provide comprehensive, collaborative and effective programs with bilingual competency in English and Spanish. With more than 30 programs encompassing Behavioral Health, Child Welfare, Community Health, Workforce Development, and the Association House High School, we promote individual health and wellness and create opportunities for educational and economic advancement. POSITION SUMMARY
Conducts community health workshops, trainings, and events that promote wellness. Assists in the implementation of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course. Facilitates MHFA courses with fidelity to the core program model and key messages. Assists with the organization and staffing of agency health fairs, blood drives, and other health promotion events. Documents services and deliverables following program guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, or healthcare preferred.
- Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations, schools, and community groups.
- Experience as a trainer or educator, facilitating health and wellness curriculum preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English required.
- Reliable and independent transportation.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours to meet program operations and needs.
- Valid IL driving license and proof of automobile liability insurance preferred.
