Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team in the food industry. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure quality and freshness
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring as directed
- Cook food items on the line during service hours
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar role in a restaurant or catering setting is preferred
- Proficiency in using knives and other kitchen tools
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt as needed
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully to co-workers and guests.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
