The Residential Life Shift Team Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the program before and after school and oversees the planning for weekends. The Shift Team Manager will work the afternoon and evening shifts, Monday-Friday every week and is responsible for maintaining a positive team culture and consistency from week to week between two shift teams. To the students and staff in their care, they will provide structure, guidance, discipline and understanding.
- Working with skeleton schedule to ensure tasks are assigned to all staff on duty, and communicated in a timely and appropriate way
- Working closely with Year Group Leaders and Academic advisor to ensure student needs are met
- Ensuring staff are timely to work, and are clocked in and out accurately
- Hold meetings at the start of shift and end of shifts to assign tasks and ensure morning and night reports are completed
- Assign staff members on each shift to issue medications on each floor for weekday evenings, and weekend morning and evenings
- Ensure medication logs are completed for all students taking daily medications and OTC medications
- Be in charge of floor allocations, ensuring only female staff are allocated to the girls floor(s)
- Monitoring the work of the RLP’s, RA’s and Faculty members during the shift to ensure tasks are being completed and students are in appropriate place.

- Monitoring REACH to ensure students have been checked in and out appropriately
- Assist the RLP’s, RA’s and Faculty members in making disciplinary decisions and issuing consequences where required
- Performing all tasks expected of the RLP’s, RA’s and Faculty members
Assisting in getting shifts covered in case of an emergency absence- Responsible for overseeing the Student Leadership (RA) Program, in partnership with the two Shift Managers
Working with Weekend supervisor to ensure the needs of each team are being met- Working with staff to help shore up any gaps in procedural knowledge and expectations.Ensuring students and staff are in assigned placed for study/prep time and attendance roster is completed for students in structured study

- Hours will be the same as assigned hours for RLP’s
- Accompanying either the Spring Break or Thanksgiving Break trip (one is required)
- Keep a log of all shift changes/swaps/time off due to sickness for all staff
- Must attend the on-campus afternoon Wednesday staff meetings
- Must attend Tuesday afternoon Residential Life Leadership Team meetings
- Hold floor meetings with students to ensure good communication
- Ensure that comprehensive daily duty reports are completed and shared with the entire RL Team for both weekdays and weekends
- Any other task designated as necessary by Year Group Leader or Director
- Bachelor’s (or working toward) degree preferred
- Management experience working with youth groups, teaching, summer camps, as a Residential Assistant in college or in a dorm setting is required.
