Summary of Major Functions:
Oversee and implement all aspects of nutritional program for center. Provide nutritional counseling to patients, run nutrition groups in clinical programs, and cover culinary services as scheduled.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete thorough nutritional assessment within 48 hours.

Creates an individualized nutrition treatment plan with appropriate goals and objectives.

Develop meal plans demonstrating diversity and meeting the nutritional needs of the patients.

Demonstrate knowledge of food service regulations and environmental risks and enforce regulatory requirements.

Demonstrate knowledge of and practice of clinical interviewing/counseling skills.

Demonstrate ability to build therapeutic rapport.

Facilitate educational and nutritional process groups with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, set limits and monitor the group process, including curriculum-based groups and experiential groups both in program and out in the community.
- Provide nutritional outpatient counseling services.

Provide supervision to all dietary interns and support resources to ensure outstanding quality of dietary services and food service environment.

Timely completion and accuracy of assigned paperwork: assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, etc.

Prepare patient and staff meals as scheduled: planning, preparing, portioning, and serving of meals. Verifying allergens and specific dietary needs.

Coordinate patient challenge meals, using outside services and in-house resources.

Be able to assist/complete planning and portioning assistance with meals or snacks.
- Facilitate and provide meal therapy over monthly meal inning/outing and snack challenge.

Facilitate meal therapy with patients including processing and documentation.

Oversee stocking and rotation of snacks and pantry items using FIFO method, labeling and dating.

Provide continuity of care; communicating with outpatient RD’s within 48 hours of patient’s initial assessment, throughout stay as decided between ED Care/OP team, and prior to discharge.

Work with Program Manager to assess the effectiveness of existing programs and develop new program components as necessary.

Follow standards and accreditation requirements (TJC, HIPPA, OSHA, State and Federal Requirements, etc.)

Assist in the launch of PHP programming with a focus on nutrition policy and procedure and kitchen set up.
- Ordering of dietary supplies to maintain the needs of PHP / IOP programming.
- Updating dietary curricula to ensure all information is evidence based and current, while meeting the needs of the patient, receiving approval from Director of Nutritional Services prior to implementation.
- Additional support with meal therapy and experiential nutrition / dietary groups.

Minimum Experience:

Registered Dietitian with a minimum of 2 years of experience required.

Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of Nebraska required.

Experience working individually and in groups, preferably with eating disordered clients preferred.

Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis preferred.

Good oral and written communication skills preferred.
Computer Skills:

Must be able to effectively maneuver within an office scheduling system.

Minimum of beginner skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Intermediate skills are required with Microsoft Outlook and Zoom.

Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.
Physical Demands and Environment:
Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking frequently, hearing frequently, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately. This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds (rarely) and pushing (in a cart with wheels) up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:
99% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office and kitchen environment.
