Jurata Thin Film is a privately held biotechnology company that is revolutionizing the way vaccines and other biological medicines are stored, transported, and distributed. Our thin film technology, which stabilizes biological therapeutic payloads at ambient temperature, is disrupting the current cold-chain distribution ecosystem on which many life-saving biological drugs are currently dependent. We are seeking a Research Associate to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop a disruptive technology that will change the way critical therapeutics are distributed to those that need them around the world. As an early addition to the research team, input and direction will be a critical expectation of this hire. Therefore, while this requisition specifically seeks expertise in Biological Formulations, we are also looking for an individual who is capable of wearing multiple hats, has a multidisciplinary background, and comfortable delving into areas outside of their comfort zone (i.e., a life-long learner).
Job Description:
- Assist in formulation development efforts for future therapeutic platforms including Lipid
Nanoparticles (LNPs), Virus Like Particles (VLPs), and monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).
- Perform in vitro experiments to characterize candidate formulations and determine the stability and efficacy profile rapidly and comprehensively.
- Characterize formulations and films using a variety of analytical techniques including spectroscopy and chromatography.
- Conduct lab-scale experiments to help define process parameters for scale-up.
- Prepare data summary presentation, compiling data and authoring technical reports.
- Communicate effectively with scientists, project managers, colleagues, and external vendors.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant scientific discipline with experience in Formulation and delivery of Biological/ pharmaceutical therapeutics such as lipid nanoparticles, MAbs, vaccines, oral solids etc.
- Must have Hands-on experience with cell culture and in vitro assays.
- Experience in chemical and molecular biology analytical techniques is a plus.
- Good to have familiarity with optimization tools, scale-up/process development, and/or regulatory aspects of biological/ Pharmaceutical therapeutic.
- Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams.
- Prior experience working with CROs/CDMOs desirable.
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial early-stage environment.
