Outside Plant Construction Project Manager
Job description
The Outside Plant Construction Project Manager (OSP CPM) is responsible for managing a buried construction build of a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Middle-Mile program. Ensuring proper construction procedures are being followed by crews and subcontractors for all buried fiber placement. Manages and directs the daily efforts of buried placement crews, and subcontractors, while performing daily inspections as well. Provides regular detailed updates to internal/external administrative sides for each project. OSP CPM is responsible for hitting construction due dates, while maintaining quality, and safety objectives. This is a hands-on, in-the-field, active project manager position. Field work will make up 90% of your time.
The overall OSP CPM goals are to deliver projects on-time and in-compliance with all build quality and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project or installation management experience.
- Must be conversant/have working knowledge of underground fiber optic installations, including but not limited to, directional boring, missile, trench of fiber optic cable and or duct, along with telecommunication terminology.
- Must be able to manage construction schedules and responses, for multiple projects at a time.
- Must be able to understand and read construction documents, permits, and have strong MS Office Suite skills.
- Familiar with all facets of OSP management including construction, and delivery.
- Business-minded, able to maintain a constant focus, while practicing effective leadership in all dealings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong leadership ability, and interpersonal skills are a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
