HVAC Procurement Manager
Position Summary:
We are looking for an Experienced Purchasing HVAC Clerk to buy products for our company’s day-to-day operations. This position provides general administrative and clerical support to HVAC service and installation technicians. This would include but not limited to preparing quote requests, assisting in product selection, tracking all orders from inception to installation, purchasing requested goods, answering service calls, and inputting orders into company software. You'll be interacting with technicians on a daily basis, supporting them and prioritizing orders and delivery based on the urgency of the part needed. Works closely with Install and Service Dispatchers, keeping them up to date on the progress of jobs waiting on parts.
The candidate must be a team player, looking to support our customers, and the Technicians while they work the field!
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of the tools, materials, and equipment used in the HVAC industries.
- Knowledge of OSHA and MOSH regulations related to the HVAC trade as well as general knowledge of electrical code.
- Ability to negotiate prices for goods and services with vendors and contractors.
- Ability to serve as a liaison between skilled tradespersons, management, and other working units of the company.
- Good communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate reporting.
- Prioritize various tasks on hand.
- Review purchase orders for goods and services.
- Maintain a follow-up file on all open purchase orders for both internal and external.
- Ability to forward purchase orders by phone, online, or e-mail in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone or personal contact with outside vendors, customers, service providers, and internal departments, etc.
- Experience in the commercial/residential HVAC trade.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- 2- 3 years’ purchasing, in the HVAC field or prior experience working as a HVAC tech PREFERRED.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Analytical, Focused on Quality, and Results-driven.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software applications.
- Must be able to multi-task and work without supervision.
