Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Court Clerk/Cashier. Under the general supervision of the Senior Court Clerk. This position is responsible for assisting with the City’s day-to-day operations of the business office and municipal court. This position processes heavy volumes of court transactions, utility billing transactions, accepts payments for other departments, and performs various administrative duties. Qualified person must have knowledge of municipal court proceedings, cash-handling experience, and demonstrate excellent customer service via telephone, email, and in-person.
Duties:
- Assist with all court activities by performing complicated administrative duties and clerical functions.
- Provides ministerial support and data entry for all court activities.
- Assist with processing court cases and prepares documents for all court proceedings.
- Contacts defendants, prosecutors, defense attorneys, officers and others regarding court appearances and non-compliance issues.
- Assist Judge in the courtroom, monitors and attends to juror needs, coordinate courtroom activity.
- Processes utility billing, municipal court cases, and other departmental payments.
- Performs end-of-day daily cash reports and close out reports.
- Assist customers with questions of business office practices, city codes and policies, park reservation system, and other departmental operations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of municipal court proceedings.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic operational, technical, and office processes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Extra consideration will be given to applicants who have: Over one-year of municipal court experience, has their Texas Municipal Court Certification, and has working knowledge of InCode, Court Management Software.
