POSITION: Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Clerk, (Produce experience +)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk – level lll under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, is responsible for preparing and assisting with the truck loading of the AM delivery routes for all wholesale/distributor accounts, including; accurate collection, correct labeling, securing product on pallets and the final check to ensure that the entire order has been fulfilled to the most current invoice available. This position will also be responsible for assisting with the monthly raw and finished goods inventory. A level lll S&R Clerk is trained and qualified to perform all job responsibilities of a level l & level ll clerk.
Additionally, this position will assist the Procurement and Production Manager with ripening bananas, avocados, pears and when in season, stone fruit, as well as have fresh and dried fruit staged and ready for daily production in the appropriate processing room prior to the start of production. This is a fulltime non-exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of AM wholesale / distributor routes. Includes interpreting customer requests from the daily tracker and the correct collection and labeling of boxes
· Assist with the proper storage and handling of all packed dried fruit, including proper labeling, storage, rotation (lot code tracking), and inventories
· Assists Procurement Manager with ripening fresh produce, (i.e., banana’s, avocados, pears, stone fruit & berries), report and track receiving temps and ripening colors to management to ensure that product quality is within specification at time of delivery to customer
· Assists with daily receiving, storing and movement of all incoming products including packaging material.
· Maintains warehouse safety, housekeeping, FIFO rotation and product quality, monitors compliance to food safety policies relating to the Allergen and Organic control policies
· Comply with all proper, safe warehouse practices including food safety, SSOP’s, SOP’s, GMP’s, and HACCP
· Assists warehouse manager with warehouse SOP training.
· Participates in project teams that improve productivity, control costs, reduce waste, and maintain quality and food safety standards
· Completes assigned projects on time
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience in a fresh produce warehouse pick/pack operation
· Comfortable working in cold conditions and able to routinely lift 50 lbs.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, computer knowledge a plus.
· Familiarity with food safety, GMP standards, SSOP’s and HACCP
· Self-motivated and goal-oriented; able to work effectively with a high energy and proactive style, brings a well-developed sense of urgency to all work assignments
· Demonstrate the ability to analyze, priority plan, multi-function and manage time effectively
· Forklift and bobtail truck trained and certified.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.50 per hour
