Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the Chief Engineer/Facilities Director, plans, prioritizes and directs the full range of operational activities supporting the Engineering Department; assures optimal efficiencies in building systems, critical environments, work order management, and budget accountability; manages and directs assigned staff, contractors and projects to support operations of Snowmass Club facilities and departments. Directs the maintenance and inspection program of the Residences Department rooms, schedules preventative maintenance, and completes checklists and reports as required.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Post-secondary vocational or technical training in electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing or refrigeration. Appropriate experience may be substituted for a training certificate.
- Demonstrated experience in personnel management practices.
- Five+ years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance and operations or engineering, preferably in lead or supervisory roles.
- Experience with computer-based applications and programs such as building automated systems, work order management, timekeeping, security systems, etc.

Essential Functions
Leadership
- Supervise the Engineering team, impart knowledge effectively, and always act as a role model.
- Distribute work assignments to the team members daily, monitor progress and completion with the use of the building automated system (BAS).
- Initiate and lead regular daily and weekly departmental staff meetings.
- Assist in the onboarding, coaching, training, and mentoring of new employees.
Administrative
- Provide administrative support for the Engineering Department.
- Establish and maintain the team’s work schedules to provide coverage during day and evening shifts and weekends. Shift schedules as required to provide coverage.
- Keep daily time records and approve bi-weekly timesheets with the use of the Club’s timekeeping management application.
- Schedule and approve personnel leave requests to maintain adequate coverage.
- Attend or assign staff to attend weekly Residences Rooms Meetings.
Maintenance
- Maintained and make general repairs to the plumbing, plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, heating and ventilation systems, and building structures of the Club and Residences.
- Maintain and repair as needed air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers, and appliances.
- Maintain all swimming pools, spas, saunas, steam rooms and cold plunges, and their associated systems including pumps, filters, chemical injection systems. Monitor and record chemical levels daily.
- Establish and employ daily walk-through inspections of mechanical, heating, and cooling equipment and rooms to ensure continued operation.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and repairs on all HVAC equipment, boilers, pumps, motors, etc.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.
Non-Essential Functions
- Represent the Engineering Department in the absence of or at the request of the Chief Engineer/Facilities Director.
- Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, working most holidays and weekends.
- Ability to work with minimal or limited supervision.
- Take on other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer/Facilities Director.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or obtain within six months of hire.
Physical Requirement and Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can occasionally be moderate to loud.
- Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
