We are currently seeking a full-time (30 hours a week) Credentialing Assistant. This newly created role is essential to maintaining high standards of care and assisting medical operations to run smoothly. This role will conduct primary source verification, maintain up-to-date credentialing records, and communicate with healthcare providers, medical board agencies, and insurance companies to facilitate the credentialing process. The specialist also conducts regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of credentialing files.
High school or equivalent (required), Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years business administration experience required, prior credentialing experience is highly desired. While CPCS certification is preferred, it is not mandatory if the candidate possesses a strong combination of relevant skills and experience.
Monday - Friday and we are flex to consider any schedule between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. This 30 hour a week position is considered full-time and includes full benefits; health insurance, PTO, 401K, dental, vision, and MORE!

Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist the Medical Credentialing Department with the following tasks:

Managing the credentialing process for new and existing healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Collecting, verifying, and maintaining all required documentation for credentialing, such as medical licenses, DEA certificates, controlled substance licenses, malpractice insurance, and board certifications.

Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies related to credentialing.

Monitoring credential expiration dates and initiating the re-credentialing process as required.

Updating credentialing database with current information and ensuring all records are kept up to date.

Preparing and submitting credentialing applications to various healthcare organizations and insurance companies.

Researching and communicating with various state medical boards for new applications.

Conducting regular audits of credentialing files to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders regarding credentialing status and issues, including department managers, human resources, and compliance officers.

Other administrative duties as required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:

While CPCS certification is preferred, it is not mandatory if the candidate possesses a strong combination of relevant skills and experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of credentialing processes, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel products

Experience with web-based credentialing software preferred.

Experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Previous experience in medical credentialing or healthcare administration preferred.
Education and Experience:

High school or equivalent (required)

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.

At least 2 years business administration experience

Prior credentialing experience a plus
Physical Requirements:

The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The team member may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
