Summary:
Goldbelt C6, LLC is seeking a Health Communications Specialist III to support the mission of CDC’s Division of Oral Health (DOH) in CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health
Promotion (NCCDPHP) by providing leadership to improve the nation’s oral health.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:

Serve as a point of contact with communications to/from colleagues from other Divisions in the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as work with said colleagues to identify messages of mutual interest and coordinate dissemination through partners’ channels.

Develop print and electronic resources, as well as ad hoc documents, reports, and fact sheets (including but not limited to social media content, feature articles, Web pages, E-mail blasts, internal reports, etc.), as well as route documents through e-Clearance following an agreed upon protocol.

Identify existing content on fact sheets posted on CDC’s Oral Health Web site to update and shall, upon approval, make the edits and submit to clearance said updates when new HHS-or CDC-generated oral health-related reports, articles, data, etc. are published.

Use CDC graphic services as needed to create graphs, charts, and infographics to support content development.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

Able to provide consultation, technical assistance, and training on program and project implementation to internal and external groups.

Apply social marketing practices and health communication theories to enhance program effectiveness.

Excellent judgment and decision making, with strong analytical skills; business intuition and business acumen.

Advanced use of Adobe and Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree in public health, communications, or health-related field plus 2 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience in communications/marketing.

Ability to work independently.

Knowledge of health communication and marketing principles

Experience using plain language and ability to use CDC’s Clear Communication Index tool.

Expertise writing health content for a variety of audiences to be distributed via print and digital methods.

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.

Strong attention to detail and possess critical thinking skills.

Ability to collaborate.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience hands-on experience in diabetes or chronic diseases.

Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
