Job Position: Flight Simulator Visual System Field Engineer
Department: Operations
Reports to: Customer Service Supervisor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site installations of company visual systems
- Provide technical support on-site and in-house for internal and external customers
- Coordinate with software development, program office, modeling, quality assurance and customer service teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues expediently
- Perform hardware/software updates to existing visual systems at sites worldwide
- Support in-house production of Image Generators, Projection Systems, and Optical Systems
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain IG hardware/software
- Assemble mechanical components from engineering drawings
- Interface with equipment manufactures to resolve reliability issues
- Write and maintain detailed Operating & Maintenance Documentation and Acceptance Test Procedures
- Conduct product testing and product acceptance with customers and support Regulatory Certification
- Maintain proficiency on all applicable aviation regulatory standards (i.e. FAA, EASA, ICAO, etc.)
- Coordinate and implement operation training with customers
- Prepare and present technical data/documents to RSi staff and customers
- Maintain daily reports while on-site and provide customer feedback
Qualifications:
- Strong and effective verbal, analytical and written communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Able to effectively use electronic repair tools and testers
- Good knowledge of hand and power tool operations and safety practices
- Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
- Able to work long hours and random shifts
- Able to lift 50+ lbs., work in small spaces, climb ladders and work above 20 feet.
- Must have a valid passport or able to obtain a passport and be able to clear military background checks
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Proven history of proactive customer satisfaction
- Standard of excellence and willingness to exceed expectations
- Strong leadership qualities are desired
- 2+ years Flight simulation experience preferred
