Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Childcare Provider to join our team. Under the direction of the Head Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children. Your responsibilities will include supervising children, implementing age-appropriate activities, and ensuring their well-being.
Duties:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with parents, staff and the community.
- Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure that child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with good child development principles. This includes routines related to diapering, potty training, toileting, hand washing, eating, napping and transitioning between activities.
- Physically able and willing to interact with children in the indoor and outdoor environment.
- Supports the Head Teacher/Assistant Teacher in communication daily information to parents.
- Assist in maintaining daily records as assigned.
- Assist in environmental chores to maintain a pleasant, inviting classroom atmosphere in which children feel comfortable and secure.
- Participating in continuing education programs, staff meetings and SSELC functions as required.
- Promotes effective working relationships and works cooperatively as a part of a team to facilitate the center's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Performs related duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement techniques
- Familiarity with special education strategies is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to connect with children on an individual level
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent

Pay: $14.25 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 26 – 32.5 per week
