About the Position:
Omni Fiber is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Aerial Lineman. The role involves the construction, maintenance, and operation of overhead fiber telecommunications. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of quality and safety in all tasks. Our construction office is based out of Port Clinton, OH. Our customers and the work however are all over Northern and Central Ohio. We are also expanding into Michigan and Pennsylvania this year.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables.

Safely operate equipment and vehicles.

Perform construction tasks such as digging holes, placing cables, blow out pipes, and inner ducts in various conduit systems and open excavations.

Ability to climb ladders, work in a bucket truck, and work aloft on poles up to 40 feet.

Perform aerial tasks including new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing.

Connect, rearrange, repair, and maintain outside cables to ensure good service.

Attach/detach various hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.

Read, understand, and interpret field prints to determine work requirements and potential issues.

Ensure all installation work meets quality standards and complies with OSHA safety procedures.

Restore project areas to required specifications.

Report project progress to the Foreman and manage materials and equipment to avoid work delays.

Work professionally in, on, and around customer properties.

Maintain responsibility for all vehicles and equipment under your control.

Be available for local call outs on weekends and evenings.

Set up and maintain safe work environments, including using signage, cones, safety barriers, and flagging traffic when necessary.

Understand and adhere to separation and clearance regulations.

Flexibly work in multiple locations and travel as required.
Qualifications:
-
Experience in telephone outside plant construction or related fields, including the placement of telecommunications cables and fiber.

Ability to safely climb poles with ladders and work from aerial buckets.

Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.

Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.

Successful completion of pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test

A valid, unrestricted driver's license

Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over-lash, and strand construction.

Must be able to lift/carry 80 lbs. regularly as needed, with or without assistance.

The job involves sitting, bending, handling, or feeling with hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms to high and low spaces, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping.

Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment may have moderate to loud noise levels.

The role involves outdoor work, exposing employees to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, and dust, as well as adverse driving conditions like wet, icy roads, and fog.

Ability to travel 80% of the time. You will receive per diem and accommodations when traveling.
