OVERVIEW
The Catering Sales Manager works directly with members and sponsored guests to plan and sell meetings, events, weddings, and other functions. They create Banquet Event Orders (BEO) which include menus, room layout, audio/visual requirements, agenda, and special details, coordinating between the banquet operations department and the client.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with members and guests to plan events, identifying needs and providing information
- Recommend services and arrangements for banquets and other functions, and prepare BEO accordingly
- Confirm event menus, plans, details, and arrangements, and make any needed BEO changes
- Promote the WAC's banquet functions to members through approved "outreach" sales
- Work closely with the catering sales team to develop WAC catering information guidelines, brochures, photo albums, visual aids, and other resources
- Solicit member and guest satisfaction feedback
- Meet minimum sales goal for fiscal year
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of three (3) years of catering sales experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, in a related field
- Washington State Food Handler's Permit
- Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset
