Job Overview:
The Controller for Mastway LLC (the Company) is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting and reporting for the Company and its clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, with a proven track record of leadership and management. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for managing financial reporting, financial systems and internal controls while providing support with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for the Company, Brookside Holdings and its three portfolio companies.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
- Collaborate with client’s accounting teams by providing guidance and support to promote process improvement, professional development and performance excellence.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and communicate implications to senior management.
- Provide support to CFO for communication with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, reviews, and compliance activities.
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads and the CFO to develop realistic financial plans and performance targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation is strongly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in public accounting is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective financial report writing
