We are seeking a Surety Account Manager with experience working at a commercial insurance agency.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of contract surety experience in bond processing with an understanding of commercial surety knowledge as well. Location for this position is in our Houston, TX office or New Orleans, LA office with a hybrid work environment to work remote from home and the office. The primary responsibility of the Account Manager is to retain an existing book of business in a professional, caring, responsive manner so as to generate client respect and loyalty. The ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid customers in their surety success. This will be done by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face.
Responsibilities
- Executing P&P bonds, bid bonds, commercial bonds
- Create and maintain relationships with customers to better understand and achieve their needs
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Manage all reporting about the health of customers' accounts
- Using prompt, courteous, and appropriate communications with clients, colleagues and company personnel
- Executing and/or renewing bonds in an accurate and timely manner, or securing the bonds from the applicable carrier in a timely manner
- Checking bonds and powers of attorney for colleagues for accuracy before forwarding to clients
- Advising the Producer/AE when underwriting information is required and forwarding to the carriers, as needed
- Following up on bid bond tabulations and advising the carriers
- Maintaining an awareness of changes within the industry from a coverage, price and legal standpoint
- Assisting in the collection of outstanding monies when appropriate
- Filing all information in e-filing program and creating tasks as follow ups for all bonds as per department procedures
- Processing all invoices/billings in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Previous account management experience in surety
- Well accustomed to a client facing role
- Willingness and ability to travel if needed
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
Licensing Requirements
- General Lines Agent License
