Vitro has full-time openings for Instrumentation Technician
The Vitro Architectural Glass plant in Fresno, California, produces flat glass for the residential and commercial construction markets. The plant began operations in 1967. The Instrumentation Technician works in a 24/7 glass products operation with a wide range of environments with exposure to dust, chemicals, heat (process temperatures range from 3000 degrees to ambient air temperature), noise, confined spaces, moving machinery, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic systems and working both below and above ground level.
Must be willing to work rotating shifts and in a hot environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs calibrations, will build/design controls, and develop operating parameters and specifications as needed throughout the plant. Makes recommendations and determines quantities and potential work time for proposed upgrades, installations, repairs and projects. Answers service calls Assists in and works on assigned projects to improve processes. Ensures duties are performed in a fiscally responsible manner while observing all safety practices and regulations.Education Required:
Associate degree in electrical or related field at the technician level. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC's), variable frequency drives, motion controllers and basic computer skills.
Requirements:
Candidate must have a thorough understanding and experience with:
Analog Devices (4-20 analog-temp, pressure, flow, ph level)
Discrete Devices
PLC (modicon, Siemens, Allen Bradley) - Troubleshooting, and replacement of parts
Motor Controls Wiring (multi conductor wire, rs485, Ethernet, Coax) ... including soldering
Electrical Troubleshooting Conveyors, Elevators, Packaging Machinery
VFD-troubleshooting, programming, replacement SCADA system (Emerson Delta V)
PI process book historian
GE IFIX (HMI/SCADA)
Computer and Peripherals troubleshooting and repairs
Equipment Calibration-Valves, pressure, flow, temp transmitters, digital analog controls, servos, thermocouple, flow, level controls strain gauges, load cells, test equipment
Vision Systems Repair, maintain, calibrate
CEMS Process flow minded Ability to work independently
