Our client, a global fortune 500 company, has created the NEW ROLE of Reliability Engineer - Electrical. In this position you'll be a strategic subject matter expert on Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls Reliability. This opportunity will work remotely approximately 75% of the time with travel to manufacturing facilities throughout North and South America for the 25% balance. This position can be based anywhere in the US. This function develops and assists with implementation of Electrical Reliability standards work at selected sites throughout the Corporation. The typical schedule is 7a - 4p or 5p Monday - Friday; however, some calls with international locations will occur outside of these core hours.
Responsibilities:
- Applies reliability principles, terms and practices of the electrical engineering discipline to drive the reliability programs throughout the company's organizations
- Develop asset strategies aligned with criticality and needs of the business including the Motor Control Center (MCC)
- Implements, monitors and tracks audit control mechanisms within area of scope to track performance and provide actionable solutions that contribute to improvements
- Recommends appropriate condition monitoring tools and techniques to improve effectiveness
- Involved in Six Sigma/RCA, FMEAs, PM reviews and PM Optimization exercises as required
- Reviews Engineering Design as required to ensure “Design for Reliability” is achieved
- Provides technical electrical and instrument expertise to sites as required
- Responsible for supporting sites in resolving issues with IEC designs in a safe, timely and cost‐effective manner
- Trains and mentors site staff on instrumentation, electrical and control (IEC) best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of experience in Electrical Maintenance and Reliability
- 5 or more years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls Logic, PLC programming (Delta V)
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% in the Americas
- Bachelors or Associate degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Technology, Electronics or Instrumentation OR directly related work experience instead of degree
- Proven track record of working on a wide variety of technology including: Low & medium voltage power distribution, Motor control centers, switchboards and panelboards, Various types of field instrumentation & control valves, Full functional testing of interlocks, Motor Controls, Relay logic, RTUs, NFPA 70E, Arc flash electrical safety
- Working knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- This role does not have any direct reports, but will require leadership skills to mentor site technicians and engineers throughout the Americas
- SAP experience is preferred but not required

- Salary range is $140,000 - $150,000 plus up to a 15% performance based bonus
