Responsibilities:
The PACU/PREOP Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure. The PACU/PREOP RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during the post-operative phases of the perioperative stay. The PACU/PREOP RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1 year previous PACU/PREOP experience
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse. Certified though the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. PALS or ENPC preferred.
