Job Summary: AllerVie is hiring an experienced RN to become part of our growing care team! Our Clinical RN will primarily be responsible for administering allergy shots and biologic medications to patients under the remote supervision of our providers as well as providing patient education. Previous allergy, emergency, internal medicine, or critical care experience is a plus. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safely administer allergy immunotherapy shots and various biologics
- Manage anaphylaxis reactions (with provider support) when they (rarely) occur
- Gather and assess patient information by physical assessments and review
- Supports Physician and Nurse Practitioner in all clinical aspects of allergy care
- Perform Allergy Skin Testing and Injections, Pulmonary Function Tests, and additional clinical skills as needed
- Educate patients on procedures, therapies, and medications
- Maintain proper documentation in patient charts
- Complete routine clinical tasks to support medical providers
- Handle all administrative and medical related duties in a timely manner
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Respiratory and Allergy experience is a plus
- Excellent clinical skills and judgement, comprehensive knowledge of disease states
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to use EMR and other required technology
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s/Vocational/Technical schooling
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- EMR experience required
- At least one-year related experience required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Virginia
- ACLS certified within 30 days of starting
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
