Summary: The Special Education Teacher is responsible for implementing goal-oriented teaching strategies using proven instructional techniques tailored to students with disabilities.

Requirements:
- Education and Training: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.
- Licenses and Certifications: Must possess or be able to acquire a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education and relevant subject area certification.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow mandated compliance standards set by Federal, State, or District regulations.
- Utilize District curriculum guides and specialized tests to meet individual student needs effectively.
- Develop and execute lesson strategies aligned with long-term goals.
- Maintain organized plans to assist substitute teachers in classroom management.
- Demonstrate expertise in implementing IEP goals and objectives.
Position Expectations:
- Guide curriculum achievement and student goals effectively.
- Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Employ diverse instructional techniques to meet student needs.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with legal requirements.
- Continuously improve professional competence through training.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Use keyboard and video display terminal extensively.
- Perform prolonged periods of bending, stooping, sitting, and standing.
- Lift files, papers, and materials occasionally weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Reach for items at various heights and depths.
- Operate educational technology and communicate effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Work in various classroom settings with exposure to moderate noise levels.
- Handle classroom hazards and occasional physical demands.

Pay: $41,918.00 - $90,466.00 per year
