Summary:
The Coordinator reports to the Director of Events & Programming and Director of Asset Owner Series and works directly with project managers, volunteer leaders, board members. This position is required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days but must be flexible to accommodate event needs and university visits on other days and evenings
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability and passion for events, as well as planning and managing events that provide high value to attendees. Additionally, this role will involve outreach and coordination with universities to engage students and faculty in Society events.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee all aspects of planning, management, and follow-up for assigned CFA Society New York events.
·Coordinate and support Society Interest Group meetings and assist with virtual and onsite event logistics.
·Work collaboratively across all departments within the Society.
·Work with all departments including Programming/Events, Membership, Marketing, Media, and Finance to provide excellent customer service to members and event registrants.
·Manage logistics for interest group meetings including registration, communication with registrants and virtual/onsite meeting coverage when necessary.
·Support event organizers in the logistics of volunteer driven events.
· Work collaboratively with key departments (Marketing, Media, Finance) on the creation, marketing, and implementation of events.
· Assist with updating event webpages and registration information.
· Schedule, track, and communicate the group meeting and events calendar to staff and members.
·Develop and maintain relationships with universities for outreach and collaboration on events and initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· One to two+ years’ experience in planning events. Must have strong event, project, and time management skills.
· Self-accountable and self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
· Demonstrable social media networking and experience in social media marketing.
· Set up and optimize company pages that build meaningful connections, increase event visibility, and encourage attendees to act.
· Microsoft Office proficient; knowledge of WordPress, HTML, Cvent and Salesforce a plus.
· Must be flexible to be available for early morning and late evening events as required.
