PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position serves as an administrative team member serving Cheyenne OBGYN. This person will have good communication and will learn workflow throughout the clinic, this position skillfully serves patients, providers, staff members and the executive director, enabling all staff to fulfill their job responsibilities.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires hand eye coordination and manual dexterity. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephones, fax machine and photocopiers. Requires normal vision and color perception. Requires hearing in normal acuity range. Requires ability to work quickly under high stress.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to the clinic environment. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
Responsibilities and Duties
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Greet and check in/out patient, obtain accurate financial, insurance, and demographic data. Ensure required paperwork is complete. Collect payments as needed.
- Coordinate insurance authorizations. Verify and document benefits, initiate pre-authorizations and process referrals.
- Answer phones and schedule appointments, ensuring patient is seen in a timely manner. May confirm appointments in advance.
- Maintain provider schedules.
- Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, management, receptionist team, nursing team, business office team, other staff.
- Promote a cooperative and pleasant work environment.
- Provide general clerical support, including filing, scanning, and coordination of release of medical records.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality.
- Ongoing Customer Service Training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of medical office procedures. Knowledge of health care administration principles. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting information. Skill in written and verbal communication. Basic computer skills. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality improvement. Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving and decision-making. Ability to work effectively with patients, physicians and staff. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
EDUCATION: Equivalent to a high school diploma. Associate Degree or higher preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Two to four years in a medical office setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, word processing and/or computer experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
