Large independent gastroenterology practice in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager to manage all revenue cycle operations. This position will direct and oversee policies, objectives, and initiatives to optimize patient financial interaction, accelerate cash flow and optimize revenue streams in accordance with contracts and regulations.
The Revenue Cycle Manager will manage and drive all aspects of the revenue cycle including claims submission, contracting & credentialing, and collection of patient responsibility. This person will be responsible for a team with significant experience that has been driving up collections each month since inception. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who displays excellent project management skills and is results oriented, has expertise in Revenue Cycle Management, and is energized by establishing visibility and metrics around Revenue Cycle Management.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership to the Revenue Cycle Team to include Coding, A/R, Prior Authorizations, Financial Counseling, Payment Posting, Payor Enrollment, Payor Contract Negotiation, and Benefits Verification.
- Facilitate an inclusive workplace built on cooperation, teamwork, and a commitment to patient-centered excellence.
- Develop innovative methods for increasing staff productivity, quality, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate effectively across a cross-functional team to improve decisions & coordination.
- Review, design and implement processes surrounding pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collection, and financial reporting.
- Establish quality review processes to ensure revenue cycle is optimized and process modifications are made as needed.
- Produce and analyze standard periodic reports such as A/R aging, denial reports, POS collections, revenues by provider/location/payer, and revenue forecasts based on payer mixes and rates.
- Actively participates in and complies with all aspects Corporate Compliance Programs, follow the Program Code of Conduct and obey all relevant laws, statutes, regulations and requirements applicable to Medicaid, Medicare and other State and Federal health care programs.
- Perform other revenue cycle projects and initiatives as directed by Chief Financial Officer.
Successful candidate must:
- Possess a thorough knowledge of revenue cycle processes including the integration of patient access, health information management, charge capture, coding/compliance/documentation, claims management and patient financial services.
- Have experience with Electronic Claims Processing, Payment and Remittance.
- Be proficient in Excel.
- Have the ability to exercise a high degree of analytical, problem solving and team building skills.
- Demonstrate superior verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong financial management skills including the ability to financially analyze data for operations, budgeting, auditing, and forecasting.
- Have strong leadership skills including the desire and capacity to motivate others toward continuous improvement.
- Experience with negotiating and managing payor contracts and provider enrollment a plus.
Education/Experience requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field and eight (8) years of professionally related experience in revenue cycle with at least five (5) years in management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Strong preference given to candidates with gastroenterology experience using gGastro (gMed) billing/EHR software.
